Everest Region, located in the northeast of Nepal is a famous destination for trekkers as you can observe the World Highest Mountain; Mt. Everest (8848m). Popularly known as the Khumbu region, this destination offers breathtaking views of Sagarmatha along with other peaks like Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Ama Dablam, etc. The UNESCO listed Natural World Heritage Site Sagarmatha National Park is located in Everest Region with an area of 1148 sq. km. Various endangered animals like Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Musk Deer, etc are found in Sagarmatha National Park. The majority of people in this region are Sherpa and follow Buddhism and there are plenty of Buddhist chaityas and gumbas in this region which attracts tourists. People of the Khumbu region are mostly in the tourism sector as tourism is the main source of income for them and people from various places travel there for trekking as well as mountaineering. Various hotels and lodges have been operated in order to facilitate the increasing number of tourists in the Khumbu Region. Famous villages in the Khumbu region include Dingboche, Lobuche, Thame, Phakding, Monjo, Lukla and Namche Bazaar, etc. Trekking in the Everest Region is a well-known adventure holiday among trekkers.

The geography of this region is rugged rocky valleys, Alpine forests, and meadows, amazing sherpa villages, glaciers, and icefalls. Everest region offers short as well as long trekking routes. Short trekking route includes Everest panorama trek which lets you visit Tengboche Monasteries and splendid view of Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, etc. whereas long trekking routes include Everest Base Camp Trekking at an elevation of 5360m which let you to the base of World Tallest Mountain Mt. Everest. The best season for trekking in the Everest Region is Autumn as you can observe the best view of Mountains in this season.
