Manaslu region, located at the west of Central Nepal is still untouched and newly famous trekking destination of Nepal with less crowd than that of the Everest region and Annapurna Region. Manaslu region is named after the World’s Eight highest Mountain Mt. Manaslu(8162m) which is the heart of this region. Manaslu Conservation Area is located in this region with most endangered and rare animals like Red Panda, Snow Leopard, Himalayan Tahr, Grey Wolf, Blue Sheep, etc and varieties of birds are found here. Covering an area of 1663sq.km, Manaslu Conservation Area conserves the natural resources, cultural heritage, and wildlife and to promote eco-tourism to develop the livelihood of local people residing at the Conservation area. People inhabited here are mostly Gurungs and Sherpas and follow Buddhism. 

Manaslu region offers various trekking options to its travelers such as Manaslu circuit trek, Manali lower Eco trek, and Tsum valley trekking are popular among them. The trekking trail follows an ancient salt-trading route along Budhi Gandaki river en route many peaks above 6000m. The highest point reached along the trek is Larkya La at an elevation of 5235m. Manaslu region was opened for trekking in 1991AD, hence one must acquire a trekking permit from the Department of Immigration, in addition, to TIMS card to enter in this Manaslu Region. The beautiful and picturesque scenery allows you to feel more attached to nature and the warm hospitality the local people provide allows you to feel home far from home.
