Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal. Kathmandu is the hub of culture, fine arts, and architecture. Kathmandu is also known as “city of temples” with one of the oldest pagoda temple Pashupatinath located at a distance of 1400m. Out of 10 UNESCO World Heritage sites, 7 of them are in Kathmandu valley at a distance of 13 km including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Changunarayan and Patan Durbar Square. These World Heritage Sites have their own history and importance. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar square and Patan Durbar square are the kingdoms of the Malla king and many heritages and monuments here have been built during the 13th to 15 century. Swayambhunath and Boudhanath are the Buddhism Pilgrimage sites and Changunarayan is the oldest temple of Nepal.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu meets and greet our representatives from Moonline Tours P. Ltd and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. If you have free time, explore the streets of Kathmandu.

Overnight at Kathmandu.

Enjoy early morning mountain flight and observe the breathtaking views of Himalayan ranges along with the World Highest Mountain Mt. Everest and diversified landscape. After the completion of mountain flight, proceed for a guided sightseeing tour of UNESCO World Heritage Sites including Kathmandu Durbar square, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. 

Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the heart of Kathmandu and is one of the royal palaces of Kathmandu Valley with the monuments from 13 to the 15th century. Pashupatinath is a two-stored pagoda temple of Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath is the holy temple of Hindus all over the World. Boudhanath is the largest Buddhist stupa where you can find many Tibetans and Buddhist monks praying. Swayambhunath is the oldest Buddhist stupa located at the top of the hill and also popularly known as “Monkey temple”. Roam around the streets of Kathmandu in the evening. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Guided sightseeing tour of Patan Durbar Square, a marvel of Newar architecture. The main highlights are Krishna Mandir, Patan Museum, Taleju Bhawani temple, Sundari chowk, etc. Observe the fine arts and architecture used in monuments and temples. After spending some more time exploring around Patan Durbar Square drive to Bhaktapur to explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Bhaktapur Durbar square is also known as “city of devotees”. The main highlights of Bhaktapur Durbar square are 55 Windows palace, Golden gate, Museum, Vatsaladevi temple, Mini Pashupatinath, etc. After sightseeing in Bhaktapur Durbar Square, we head towards Nagarkot to observe the beautiful sunset, sunrise and Himalayan range. Upon arrival at Nagarkot, check-in hotel. Rest day free for self-relaxation and pleasure.

Overnight at Nagarkot.

Enjoy the mesmerizing view of Sunrise from the window or balcony or you can hike at the viewpoint to observe the Sunrise and Himalayan range. After spending some more time, drive to Bungmati, a small town at Patan with hundreds of master woodcarvers and sculptures producers. Bungmati is the hometown of the deity Machhindranath. After exploring Bungmati, we head towards Khokana, a tiny Newari town with the production of rich mustard oil. Exploring some more time in Khokana, return back to Kathmandu. Roam around the streets in the evening.
