Annapurna Region
The Annapurna region is one of the most popular trekking destinations as one can trek from 3 days to 3 weeks. About two-thirds of trekkers visit Annapurna Region as it is the most developed trekking route having an adequate number of lodges and facilities. The main attraction of the Annapurna region is Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Fishtail, etc. Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) is under operation in order to preserve and conserve the natural flora and fauna of the Annapurna Region. Annapurna region spreads around Kaski, Mustang, Manang and Langtang districts of central Nepal. The highest altitude is 8091m which is the altitude of Mt. Annapurna starting with an altitude of just 790m. The popular treks include Ghorepani-Poonhill Trek, Upper Mustang Trek, Annapurna Circuit Trek, Annapurna Base Camp trek, Jomsom-Muktinath Trek, etc.
Annapurna Region offers beautiful views of mountain ranges and wonders of nature covering a wide range of geographical and cultural varieties as one can observe the lush green foothills, barren of the World’s deepest gorge Kali Gandaki and subtropical forest adorned with varieties of Rhododendrons and other wildflowers. The culture, tradition, and lifestyle of the Annapurna region is very fascinating as they provide warm hospitality to the trekkers. Inhabitants here are mostly Gurungs and Magars who are rich in culture and traditions. Ghandruk is the main attraction point as one can stay at the home of local people and can interact with them and their culture and tradition. Another main attraction of the Annapurna Region is Poonhill from where one can observe the majestic view of Sunrise over the Himalayas. Poonhill trek is considered one of the easiest treks especially designed for those who want to get close to nature with less time.
The holy place Muktinath, the highest Tilicho lake, the World’s deepest gorge Kaligandaki is located in Annapurna Region. Along with these, the Annapurna Region is rich in natural beauty and offers mesmerizing views of the mountain ranges en route.
