Is it possible to complete the Annapurna Base Camp trek in 10 days? The answer is “Yes”. Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek-10 days is specially designed for time-bound travelers who want to be at the base of the World’s tenth highest mountain Mt. Annapurna (8091m). Trekking to the Annapurna base camp offers you picturesque Himalayan range and green natural beauty. About 2/3rd of travelers choose to trek in the Annapurna region as there are plenty of teahouses and lodges en route and the trails are well maintained and clean. 

The trek starts from the beautiful and scenic city of lakes Pokhara and drives to Nayapul from where we start our trek following the Annapurna sanctuary route via Jhinu Danda, Bamboo, Chhomrong, Machhapuchhre Base Camp, and finally at Annapurna Base Camp at an elevation of 4130m. After we reach our ultimate destination, we trek back via the same route up to chhomrong and from chhomrong the trail diverts to Ghandruk Village; an ethical and culturally rich Gurung village. Passing through the lush Rhododendron forest, terraced farmlands and exploring the culture and lifestyle of local inhabitants along with observing panoramic views of many snow-capped mountains we return back to Nayapul where Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek- 10 days will end.

Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu Airport (TIA) and transfer to the hotel.

Welcome to Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet and greet our representatives of Moonline Tours P. Ltd and transfer to the hotel. Short description of Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek enroute to hotel and check-in hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Fly to Pokhara early in the morning and observe aerial views of the Himalayan range and diversified landscape. Pokhara is one of the most beautiful cities in Nepal along with an amazing view of the Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, and many other peaks. Major attractions of Pokhara are Phewa Lake, Devi’s fall, Gupteshwor Cave, and many other places to explore around. Upon arrival at Pokhara, drive to Nayapul and trek to Jhinu Danda at an elevation of 1760m. Crossing the bridge of Modi Khola, walk uphill along the bank of Modi River till we reach Birethanti. The trail then ascends to Syauli Bazar and again climb the uphill trail that leads to Jhinu Danda. Explore around in the evening.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

From Jhinu Danda, the trail ascends uphill till we reach Chhomrong village. From Chhomrong village, the trail descends all the way to Chhomrong Khola and crossing the suspension bridge of Chhomrong Khola, following the stone-paved stairs all the way to Sinuwa passing through the dense forest of Bamboo, Rhododendron, and Oaks. Gradual walk from Sinuwa through the dense forest of Bamboo, Rhododendron and Oak forest leads you to the village of Bamboo at an elevation of 2310m. Observe the magnificent view of Mt. Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Himchuli.

Walking Time: 6 to 7 hours.

The trail from Bamboo is easy as it passes through varieties of trees of Rhododendron, Oaks, etc. The trail ascends uphill to Hinko cave; a huge overhanging rock that provides shelter and protection against rain and avalanche and the more uphill trail leads us to Deurali and then to Bagar. Following the trail from the north side of the valley and gentle uphill leads to Machhapuchhre base Camp at an elevation of 3700m. Observe the close-up view of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Himchuli, etc.

Walking Time’: 7 to 8 hours.

Start your trek early from Machhapuchhre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp to observe the mesmerizing view of Sunrise over the Himalayas. Enjoy the stunning views of Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, Machhapuchhre, etc from the elevation of 4130m, the ultimate destination of our Annapurna Base Camp Short Trek. Spending some more time exploring the Himalayas, return back to Deurali at an altitude of 3230m. The trail descends downhill till we reach MBC. Following the same route passing Bagar, we will reach Deurali.

Walking Time: 6 to 7 hours.

Trek to Chhomrong passing through Hinko cave, a forest of Rhododendron, Oaks and Bamboo and a beautiful Bamboo village. The trail then descends to Sinuwa and then to Chhomrong River. Crossing the suspension bridge of Chhomrong River, the trail ascends through the steep stone-paved stairs leading at the top of Chhomrong village. Explore around Chhomrong village in the evening.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

The trail of Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill trek separates from Chhomrong. The trail descends to the village of ethnic Gurungs and Magars crossing Kimrung village. Located at an elevation of 1940m, Ghandruk is “Heaven on Earth” as you can witness the picturesque scenery of Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Himchuli, etc. Explore the culture and traditions of local people in the evening.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

From Ghandruk, the trail descends downhill passing through terraced farmlands, waterfalls, streams to Syauli Bazar and then gradual downhill from Syauli bazar crossing the bridge of Modi Khola leads you to Nayapul where our trek ends. From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara. Check-in hotel and roam around lakeside in the evening.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Enjoy the diversified landscape, terraced farmlands, scattered local settlements, lush green forest, fast-flowing River on the way to Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, check-in hotel and Roam around the streets of Kathmandu in the evening.

Overnight at Kathmandu.

Free till departure. Our representative from Moonline Tours P. Ltd will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours prior to your departure time to board your onward journey.
