Annapurna region is the second famous trekking destination of Nepal after the Everest region. Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the greatest trekking routes of Nepal, making a circuit of the huge Annapurna massif in the central region. This trek offers scenic views of mountain ranges along with the diversified landscape and fascinating life of local Gurungs and Magars. Beginning at an elevation of 1100m and ending at 5416m on Thorong La Pass touching the edge of Tibetan plateau the route completes a circuit. Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek-18 days is a very popular trek in the Annapurna region. Every year, many tourists from all over the world visit Nepal to perform Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek-18 days. 

Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek - 18 days starts from Besisahar of Lamjung and leads north up to Marsyangdi valley through lush green forests and terraced farmlands. Experiencing the diversified landscape and alpine climate the trekking route will lead to the Tibetian Buddhist village of Manang. The ultimate destination is Thorong La Pass at an altitude of 5416m from where you can observe many snow-capped mountains, including Mt. Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Dhaulagiri, etc and crossing the holy place of both Buddhist and Hindu temple Muktinath, the trek ends at Jomsom. From Jomsom, we will take a bus or fly to Pokhara, the beautiful lake city of Nepal. Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1338m/ 4390 ft.)

Welcome to Nepal!!!! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, meet and greet our representatives of Moonline Tours P. Ltd and transfer to the hotel. Check-in at the hotel. If you have free time, roam around the streets of Kathmandu in the evening.

Overnight at Kathmandu.

A scenic countryside drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar observing the terraced farmlands, lush green forest, and dispersed local settlement. Driving along the bank of Marsyangdi River leads to Besisahar, a headquarter of Lamjung. From Besisahar, we further drive forward to Syange at an altitude of 1100m, passing through the beautiful local villages.

Overnight at Syange/ Jagat.

Trek to Dharapani. The trail ascends and descends passing through the forest and crossing a suspension bridge then ascend uphill leads us to Tal. After walking along the narrow cliffs and ridges and passing through the stone path and several villages of Karte, the trail descends toward riverside and after crossing the suspension bridge, slow walk and windy route lead us to Dharapani at an elevation of 1960m.

Walking Time: 6 to 7 hours.

From Dharapani, following a more uphill walk with a gradual downhill walk through Oaks and Pine forest leads us to Danakyu village. Following more uphill observing a spectacular view of the Manaslu range and Annapurna range and passing through the Bagarchhap, Timing, Thanchok, and Koto villages lead us to Chame at an elevation of 2630m, the business center of Manang district.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

Enjoying the natural beauties and surroundings, the trail leads us to Bhartang village. After crossing Barthang village, the trail will be challenging as we have to walk through trees, exploring flora and fauna and crossing Dhukur Pokhari, the trail leads us to Pisang at an elevation of 3300m. Observe the beautiful views of the Pisang peak and other Himalayan ranges.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

Following the route used by jeep leads us to Manang. The path starts with a very steep road up to Ghyaru, a beautiful old village with excellent views of the Pisang peak and Annapurna range. The trail then ascends uphill and descends downhill from Ghyaru to Ngawal leading us to Manang and gradual walk leads us to Manang valley. As Manang lies in the rain-shadow of Annapurna range, most of the part is drier and local inheritance is engaged in Yak herding and agriculture. Explore around Manang valley in the evening.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

If you are trekking from lower altitude to higher altitude, proper acclimatization is a must as it helps us to prevent Acute Mountain Sickness. As today is our acclimatization day, short hike to Gangapurna Lake and explore around the monastery at Manang valley. Explore the culture of the local people of Manang and roam around Manang valley in the evening.

Walking Time: 4 to 5 hours.

Crossing the suspension bridge, we leave Manang valley and short ascend uphill leads us to the village of Tenki and gradually descend from Tenki leads us to Jarsang village and again after crossing the suspension bridge the steep climb takes us to Yak grazing area or pasture. As we reach an elevation of 4110m, we will notice that the grassland is not green anymore and we feel the alpine climate. You can hike up to Ledar if you have time.

Overnight at Yak Kharka.
Walking Time: 4 to 5 hours.

From Yak Kharka, short descend towards the riverside of Marsyangdi River and short ascend uphill till we reach Ledar. From Ledar, the gradual uphill walk through the barren land leads us to Thorong Phedi at an altitude of 4600m, a small yet busy village popular for trekkers. If you are physically fit, uphill walk to Thorong high camp.

Walking Time: 4 to 5 hours.

Today, we will reach the ultimate destination of our Classic Annapurna Circuit Trek, Thorong La Pass at an elevation of 5416m. From Thorong Phedi, the route is very challenging as the trail is very steep and heavy snowfalls can sometimes block the route. After reaching the top of Thorong La Pass, observe the breathtaking views of Annapurna range in the northern side and deepest Kali Gandaki gorge in front of us. The trail then steeply descends downhill till we reach Muktinath; a holy place of both Buddhists and Hindus. Observe the 108 water sprouts in Muktinath. Muktinath is home to Tibetan and Buddhist devotees.

Overnight at Muktinath (3800m).
Walking Time: 8 to 9 hours.

Observe early morning prayers at Muktinath. The trail then descends to Marpha village via a continuous walk along Kali Gandaki valley. Passing through the strong winds of Jomsom, the trail descends towards Kali Gandaki valley leading us to Marpha at an elevation of 2670m, home to many apple orchards as well as apple products. Roam around Marpha in the evening.

Walking Time: 4 to 5 hours.

From Marpha, following the gradual descend downhill leads us to Tukuche village. Observe the close view of the Tukuche peak and Dhaulagiri range along the trail and continuous up and downhills through suspension bridges and through Larjung village leads us to Kalopani. Again downhill trek leads us to Ghasa at an elevation of 2010m.

Walking Time: 4 to 5 hours.

The trek starts along the Kali Gandaki river and climbs alongside through terraced farmlands before the trail descends. Observe the Ruptse waterfall across the valley and furthermore of a trek through terraced farmlands leads us to Tatopani at an elevation of 1190m. Tatopani is a natural hot spring. Dip yourself to get rid of your tiredness and muscle relaxation. Explore around Tatopani village.

Walking Time: 5 to 6 hours.

You must be tired of walking uphill and downhill. So we have added one extra day at Tatopani to enjoy and relax at a natural Hot spring.

Trekking in the Himalayan region is full of surprises as the trail ascends uphill and descend downhill. From Tatopani, the trail ascends uphill all the way to Ghorepani at an elevation of 2810m, a village surrounded by Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, etc. Passing through several villages of Gurungs and Magars and dense forest, we reach Ghorepani. Observe the stunning views of Annapurna range along with Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri and other peaks.

Walking Time: 7 to 8 hours.

Early morning, hike to Poonhill at an elevation of 3210m and observe the mesmerizing view of Sunrise over the Himalayas. Observe the close-up view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Himchuli and other peaks and then descend down to Ghorepani. As we have to walk a very long distance today, without wasting time, we head towards Tadapani and gradually descend to Ghandruk village, an ethnic village of Gurungs and Magars. Furthermore of walk from Ghandruk leads us to the main road where access is available. Drive back to Pokhara and enjoy waterfalls, terraced farmlands, rivers, streams enroute to Pokhara. Upon arrival at Pokhara, check-in hotel.

Walking Time: 7 to 8 hours.

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu. Enjoy the landscape, terraced farmlands, local settlement and natural beauty along the countryside. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, check-in hotel. Rest day free for self-relaxation. Roam around the streets of Kathmandu in the evening.

Free till departure. Our representative from Moonline Tours P. Ltd will drop you at Tribhuvan International Airport 3 hours prior to your departure time to board your onward journey.
